They called it the Shark – and from any angle, you could see why. The C3 arrived in 1968 with bodywork inspired by the Mako Shark II concept – a design so aggressive that it looked like it had been sculpted by water rather than drawn on paper. In Elkhart Green – a color available for just two years, 1971 and 1972 – the C3 reached its visual peak. The deep metallic finish shifted from forest to lime depending on the light, and under a California sunset it was something else entirely.
